European Voluntary Services (EVS) program in Kathmandu

WNSO has been implementing the European
Voluntary Services (EVS) program in Kathmandu with coordination of CEIPES. This
is a group EVS project which has been managing 4 volunteering placements in
Nepal. There are 4 sending countries: Italy, France, Spain, and Netherlands. The service is funded with the support of the European Voluntary Service
(Youth in Action Program of the European Commission). The main themes are
anti-discrimination and human rights education. The project main aims are to
contribute to create a culture of peace and human rights for all and to enhance
active participation through volunteering.
The methodology used throughout the project is in the framework of the
non-formal education and peace education approach: experiential learning,
cooperative learning, active participation, learning by doing. These is used at
a transverse level in the partnership development, volunteers training and
support, visibility and exploitation activities. In summary, the aim of the
project is to help the community especially those in the orphanage and the
disabled, and work with peers of schools/colleges for the inclusion and promote
the Inter Cultural Learning among volunteers. This project has been implementing
since May and will be continued on September, 2012.

Kathmandu+20 Conducted

Worldwide Nepalese Students Organization has conducted
Kathmandu+20: Youth Conference on Sustainable Development on 7th June
2012. The program was blending expert paper presentations, discussion
forum on multidisciplinary approach to sustainable development which
made the participants know about the agendas to negotiated in the
upcoming United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD –
2012), known as Rio+20. The program prepared the youth to deal with the
large and multiple challenges to deal in sustainable way.

Rio+You

Worldwide Nepalese Students Organisation ( WNSO) being coalition partner of Road to Rio has
organized the Cleaning Patan Durbar and Youth Awareness to motivate,
inspire, engage and support youth to take action on issues of
sustainability and influence the outcome of Rio+20, the UN Conference on Sustainable Development.

Sufi Evening : a fund raising concert

An evening of great sufi experience was organised with live performance by Rudraksh - an aspiring Nepalese band.
The proceedings from the ticket sales went for enhancing the social
science library in WNSO Secretariat, Dillibazar, Kathmandu.

WNSO Global Conference and AGM, 2011

The Worldwide Nepalese Students Organization\'s Annual General Meeting (2068) was held on 17 July, 2011. The AGM went through the discussion on several agendas and also formed a new executive committee. This AGM also have made some crucial decisions on several agendas.
